Q: How to choose the appropriate wattage for the heater?
A: The choice of heater wattage depends on the volume of water in your aquarium. You can estimate by multiplying the number of liters by a factor ranging from 0.8 to 2.5. For example, for a 200-liter tank, you would choose a heater with a wattage between 160W and 500W (200 multiplied by the range 0.8 to 2.5). We recommend selecting a factor around 2, so a heater with approximately 400W would be suitable.
Q:Where should the aquarium heater be placed in the tank?
A: The aquarium heater should be positioned in an area with strong water flow. Placing the heater in a location with high water circulation, such as in the water pump chamber of a sump or near the outlet of the filter, ensures rapid and efficient heat distribution. It is prohibited to bury the heater in the sand.
Reminders:
-
If you need to remove the heater, wait for at least 5 minutes after powering off to allow the heating element to cool down before extraction. Failure to do so may damage the heating core due to high temperatures.
-
The controller is not waterproof. Avoid submerging the controller in water during operation.
